Cutoff knives are referred to a few different ways: cutting knives, perforated blades, perf blades, toothed knives, cross perforated knives and crossperf knives. Typically, “cutoff knives” refers to the blade that cuts the product to its final length. The material being cut determines the design of the cutting edge of these blades. In most cases, it is a straight knife with a beveled toothed cutting edge.
Most commonly used in the packaging industry are the toothed cutoff knives made from industrial grade stainless steel and made to OEM specifications. We make these types of ultra precision cutoff blades for OEMs like Bosch and Matrix just to name a couple.
Beveled cutoff knives can be used on high speed rotary drum machines that can produce hundreds of cuts per minute. These require an ultra precise blade and anvil set that requires matched ground cuts perfectly mated for the best results.
In all cases, we can offer solid advice on the material selection and the design of the knife to fit the application. OEMs can rely on AQS for design help and formulation of their cutoff blade. We offer competitive pricing, 100% inspection department approval, and stocking programs.
